    • xiik Makes "Home" a Little More Functional

    • xiik donates web development services to a local shelter for mothers in need.

    • Project Home Indianapolis (link) is a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) organization that provides healthcare, life skills and educational programs for pregnant and parenting mothers who may also be homeless. The organization, started by several of its current board members intends to open its doors to the public in the next several months.
    • In an effort to gain donations and public interest, the Project required a way to keep fresh content on its website. Seeking a way to frequently update their site, the group's board contacted xiik to perform the work. While the board offered compensation for the work, xiik immediately refused to accept any payment. "I've known these guys for years and really believe in what they are doing. It would be unthinkable for us to accept money that could otherwise go toward their clients, who need it much more than we do," said xiik's Director of Operations, Chris Overstreet.
    • Not only did xiik provide updates to the website, but the team also donated its proprietary Content Management System to the organization so that administrators are now empowered to maintain the web content on their own. This CMS is similar to those that xiik developers created for organizations such as the Indiana State Museum, USRowing, Vincennes University and the Indianapolis International Airport.
    • xiik has commited to donate 1% of its annual profits to charities and non-profit organizations each year. In addition, it has promised an additional 1% of its total billable hours to pro-bono work for groups and organizations in need.
